Analyzing sounds of flying insects

Dear all,

I have a short question with the hope of getting back long answers:

Is anyone working in the field of detecting and analyzing sounds of flying insects (e.g. flies, bees, other Hymenoptera) or know of people/working groups studying this issue?

While there are some publications (e.g. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs13592-018-0619-6) it seems like little research is yet done in this topic. Could a reason for the neglect of acoustic insect monitoring be the difficulties in analyzing insect sounds on a deeper taxon level (family, genus)?

Thank you for your answers and contributions!

Best regards,

Max
