Do you know of any grants offered to train/provide environmental NGOs with conservation/detection dogs?
I am involved in the International Black-capped Petrel Conservation Group, which was created to foster conservation of this endangered tropical seabird. Black-capped petrels nest in the mountains of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, in difficult and remote terrain, often in very dense vegetation. Our local partners could use a trained dog to help them find nest sites but they do not necessarily have the capacity or funding to support a conservation dog on the long term.
I can start the list with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, which offers support for wildlife trafficking and human-wildlife conflicts issues https://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/zoo/support/future-for-wildlife/cons...
Any other ideas?
