Hey guys,
I recently published a small review paper on the use of time-lapse cameras to study seabirds. It can easily be applied to other colonial animals. It doesn't go into detail on camera model specs, but it does talk about capabilities and limitations as well as practicalities to consider when setting up your own time-lapse camera project.
I'll just leave this here in case it is useful to anyone (also attached):

Cheers!

ps. The best published paper I have come across for camera specs is Trolliet et al. 2014, in case you want a side-by-side of camera types outside of the Wildllabs forum: https://orbi.uliege.be/handle/2268/165854
