The NCEAS invites applications for a temporary Data Fellow to engage in data science projects relating to environmental science in deserts of California. These projects will include assisting in the organization & analysis of data sets, developing R Shiny Apps & synthesis in support of ecological synthesis and data science projects and/or creating data products for local stakeholders.

"The Fellow will work closely with NCEAS Senior Research Fellows, graduate researchers within the region, and project scientists. The Fellow will gather and analyze data and document processes and results from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility, data repositories, and Modis satellite data. Research activities may include web scraping, collaboration with external scientists, and investigation and synthesis of environmental data. Fellows will assist in developing tools and resources that utilize these data, including data visualizations, data quality analysis, automated metadata creation, data semantics or data training."
