The virtual Frontiers ‘Digital tools for reversing Environmental Degradation’ symposium taking place from the 9 to 19 January 2023 will aim to catalyse research-into-action projects and partnerships that deliver technology-enabled approaches to reversing environmental degradation in locations in Africa and Asia. While there are many ways to approach this challenge, the event aims to explore three main categories:

  • Supporting participatory approaches in research and decision-making
  • Data access, visualisation, and analysis
  • Real time monitoring and learning

Following the event, seed grants of up to £20,000 will be available to take forward the best ideas from the event.

This event is open to all disciplines and sectors. Places are competitive, so submit early for your best chance. Find more information and apply via the Royal Academy of Engineering's website.

Note: you dont have to be an engineer, and you dont have to be online for the full 10 days! If the topic is at all interesting, please check our the details via the link above.

The event and funding are supported by the Reversing Environmental Degradation in Asia and Africa (REDAA) programme, which is funded by the United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and managed by International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).
