I am an environmental biologist passionate about using digital and remote sensing technologies, such as drones, machine learning and computer vision, for environmental management and outreach. I envision a future where such technologies will be easily accessible to professionals and non-experts working on the environment!
My previous work has involved studying lizard biodiversity in Greek islands, monitoring seaweeds with drones in the Azores and identifying farmed fish escapees with deep learning. Techinally, I am interested in using combinations of various technologies for habitat mapping and animal detection, as well as developing augmented reality applications for environmental outreach. I use R, Python and/or MATLAB for programming depending on project requirements.
