We invite you to participate in the next virtual meeting of the Latin American WILDLABS Community , where we will learn about the work of Dr. Santiago Martínez Balvanera , a researcher in computational ecology at University College London (UCL) .
In this session we will talk about:
“Towards the accessible and adaptable use of AI for acoustic biodiversity monitoring.”
The talk will explore how artificial intelligence tools can support acoustic monitoring of biodiversity, with an emphasis on approaches that are accessible and adaptable to different conservation contexts.
Santiago will also share his experience in developing open tools for the analysis and annotation of bioacoustic recordings, including Whombat , an open-source platform for developing machine learning models in bioacoustics.
