Hi everyone,
I'm a student in Mexico studying engineering with a focus on conservation technology — working on IoT sensor networks, wildlife data pipelines, and AI-based species classification.
I'm looking for advice from the community on opportunities available for students at this stage:
- Field internships or research assistant positions in wildlife monitoring or biodiversity assessment
- Summer programs or fellowships oriented toward conservation technology
- Grants or scholarships for students from developing countries working in this space (I'm aware of WildLabs Awards and WCN, but curious if there are others)
- Any organizations actively looking for student collaborators on open-source conservation tools
I'm available from mid-2026 and aiming for a master's in conservation technology starting 2029, so I'm building experience and connections in parallel.
Any pointers would be hugely appreciated!
Best,
Toshi
