An Internet of pigeons?

Groups

I was amused to read about a flock of pigeons just released in London to tackle pollution. The flock was equipped with pollution sensor and Twitter account to raise awareness of capital’s illegally dirty air. Apparently there is only one sensor, so it's probably a bit too much of a stretch to call the current effort an 'internet of pigeons', but perhaps it's the next step?

The organiser 'was inspired by the use of pigeons in the first and second world wars to deliver information and save lives, but they were also a practical way of taking mobile air quality readings and beating London’s congested roads. They fly relatively low, at 100-150ft, and fast, at speeds up to 80mph.'
