I'm looking into the topic of measuring species vulnerability to overharvesting of species in trade. I am exploring existing models that have been used previously,  like the Vulnerability Index for fish as used by FishBase and derived from (William Cheung, 2005),  a fuzzy expert system that uses Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications that combines life history and ecological features of marine fishes to approximate their intrinsic vulnerability to fishing.
